Cosmogenical Argument

First drafted in 1988 revised in 2008
by Joey Lawsin

The Cosmogenical Argument, also known as the Genesis Fallacy, endeavors to challenge the notion of God’s Seven Days of Creation. Lawsin, who authored this proposition, contends that the divine act of creating the universe deviates from the principles of science and mathematics. According to Lawsin, the process lacks logical order and does not adhere to the Laws of Creation (Seven Laws of Inscription) or the Theories in Astrophysics.

Human inclination toward speculation and interpretation often occurs without empirical evidence or historical basis. Believers, steadfast in their religious convictions, sometimes shy away from open discussions to avoid conflict or embarrassment. They rely solely on faith, dismissing reason. However, a willingness to step beyond comfort zones, weigh facts against speculation, and embrace new evidence could reshape our world today. True belief transcends mere observation; it demands logic, reason, and evidence.

Beliefs, such as the flat Earth concept, eventually yield to empirical evidence. Despite this, some individuals persist in denying the Earth’s roundness. Even compelling firsthand photographs from the International Space Station, the Hubble Space Telescope, and unmanned space probes fail to sway their convictions. Preconditioned minds render such evidence ineffective.

Religious adherents face a similar predicament. Although verifiable errors and undeniable mistakes exist within the Bible, devotees remain steadfast in their belief in an all-perfect, all-present, all-powerful, all-good, and all-knowing God. However, if believers will pause and think for a while that if God is truly infallible, His holy book should be free from errors and faulty reasoning. Yet, the Bible, considered God’s inspired work, is filled with numerous inconsistencies.

The Bible’s first glaring error lies in its opening passage: “God, in the beginning, created heaven and earth.” The verse is totally fallacious. This assertion contradicts scientific knowledge because prior to Earth’s existence, other planets formed during the universe’s genesis. Even within our solar system, Earth was not the first. And there are many other planets, suns, and galaxies that came first ahead of our Milky Way as well. Hence, it is impossible that on the very first day of creation, the earth was created first and the rest of the universe was created later. Thus, the notion that Earth was created before the rest of the universe defies reason.

The second big mistake the bible has committed is in interpreting the creation of heaven(s). Remember that God, in the beginning, created only two objects: heaven and the earth. Yet, in the books of Genesis, Corinthians, and John, there are three interpretations of heaven. Heaven is interpreted as the sky, the universe, and another dimension. However, logic dictates that only one can be correct.

Let us extrapolate. If Heaven is the universe and Earth is part of the universe, then it could not be the sky or another dimension. If the earth is part of heaven, then heaven is the universe. But heaven could not be the universe since the universe can be detected and sensed while heaven can't be detected and sensed at all. So heaven could not be the universe. Now, If heaven is another dimension, then obviously earth is not part of this dimension. If it does, then rejoice, all of us are already in heaven. But earth is not a part of heaven hence heaven could not be another dimension. The only possible logical answer is that heaven is the visible arch of the sky where clouds are made. It is the dome above our head that is commonly referred to as the sky. This claim is conclusively based on the various passages found in the bible, e.g. the Book of Revelation.

Even outside the bible, some ancient painters, sculptors, and writers interpreted Heaven as the sky above where divine beings live. Evidence of these ideas can be found widely in their paintings and sculptures of antiquity. Images of angels guarding the gates of heaven, cherubim playing the harps, and saints sitting on the clouds were evidently depicted in most of their art. These images have obviously been conceptualized from the confinement of what they see every day: the sky above their heads and the earth below their feet. This perception of the above-below scenario led their minds to the ideas of heaven and earth. Literally, they equate heaven, sky, and dimension all to be the same.

The story of creation, as well, is a man-made concept rather than a godly declaration. Why? Biblical writers in those early days thought that the earth was the center of the universe with edges, ends, four corners, foundations, and pillars. If it is true that the story was inspired by God, then these cosmological errors could have been corrected by god himself. He could have even included the galaxies, suns, planets, and Milky Way outside our solar system in his creation. He could have even invented a better word for heaven to describe the universe. He could have even created water, vegetation, and living creatures on the other nearby planets. It doesn't make sense the whole universe was created and made the Earth the only planet that harbors life. He could have selected Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, or the other nearby planets as the pioneering planet of life. He could have projected sequentially beforehand the order of creation parallel to what science offers today. Since the story of creation was conceived and written by ancient me, who was not scientifically inclined and possessed limited vocabulary, obviously the bible will be subjected to errors, mistakes, and personal opinions and assumptions.

Other biblical discrepancies - errors, mistakes, contradictions, inconsistencies - are covered in the book " The Bible proves God doesn't exist".

Joey Lawsin is the author behind the new school of thought "Originemology". He is a revisionist who wants to change the world by rewriting the textbooks with new concepts that debunk the old scientific, theological, and philosophical ideas of antiquity. He published a book in Physics, created a conscious machine known as Biotronics, and formulated the assertion on "The Cosmogenical Argument".
