Food for Thought from God

The Bible says that " fruit trees of all kinds will grow - from where their fruits will be used for food and their leaves will be used for medicine or healing" (Ezekiel 47:12).

Does this verse mean that to stay healthy or be cured of any sickness; one just needs to use these two natural elements: fruits and leaves?

I for one believe in the healing power of natural elements specifically water and the physical body's self-healing power.

When I have a running nose, I treat it using water steam. If I have a sore throat, I cure it by gargling water and when I have a slight fever I heal myself by placing a face towel soaked in cold water on my forehead. I had experienced acid reflux and now it's gone. I cured it by drinking more water. The same thing with minor wounds or cuts, they all heal by themselves after simply cleaning them with water.

Most fruits contain Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B12, C, D, E, and K. And aside from these nutrients, they are also made up of minerals like iodine, copper, manganese, iron, calcium, sodium, and zinc. They are also made up of protein and fibers.

So to stay healthy one simply needs to exercise, eat fruits and drink water; and

If one is sick, the Bible advises us to use specifically the leaves of a fruit-bearing tree as medicine.

I am not a doctor or dietician, so what I have to say here are the results of my personal experiences and reading.

1. God forbids us not to eat French Fries.

God said that only and only all seed-bearing plants all over the world can be eaten as food. And that all creatures with life can eat these plants. This means that everyone should be a vegetarian or plant-eaters and not meat-eaters.

Hmmm ....no wonder that when Noah gathered all animals in his ship, they did not eat each other while they were inside the ark.

Anyway, if God speaks of seed-bearing plants or trees that have fruits with seeds in them, then potatoes, carrots, and onions don't belong to this category. Mushroom is another thing, it is not a herb and it is not green too but I love them in my pasta.

Do you think I will go to hell because I don't follow god's teachings to be a vegetarian?

Well, I love to eat meat, so will I get a double whammy from god/s...

2. God forbids us NOT to eat hamburgers!

Before the Great Flood, everyone is a vegetarian.

That's why Noah and his family didn't eat any animal species inside the ark. Wolves, lambs, lions, leopards, cows, and all other animals including them dwell together without devouring each other.

However, God, considered to be perfect, made another mistake in his creation. So He decided to wipe out his creation again by killing every moving living thing by drowning.

When the Great Flood subsided, God made another mistake. He changed his mind again and told Noah and his family that they could eat every moving living thing in this world. So from plant-eaters, they are now meat eaters too.
But of course with another restriction ......one can eat meat but not pork.

3. God forbid us NOT to drink sodas.

The Bible only speaks of natural water and wine.

So soda pop is not considered healthy for one's body.

Using a litmus paper or a pH indicator tester, a device that determines the amount of acidity or alkalinity of a substance, I did a little experiment on most of the sodas and bottled water we have in the groceries to determine their pH values.

To my surprise, I found out that there are sodas that are more acidic than the normal pH of 7 (pH of water) and some sodas have the equivalent value of acidity of a car's battery.

Would you believe that?

4. God forbids us NOT to eat Sushi.

The bible classified food into two categories: Clean and Unclean.

Some dishes listed below are classified by the bible as unclean food.
  • Crab which is an ingredient in California Rolls
  • Squid in Golden Gate Rolls
  • Euphoria Roll (oyster)
  • Mirugai Batayaki (clam)
  • Tempura (prawn)
  • Ama-ebi (shrimp)
  • Una-ju (eel)
And if you are curious what are the other clean and clean animals, let me list them here below.

Clean Animals for food:
Locusts, Grasshoppers, crickets, Antelope, Goat, Chicken, Quail, Bass, Buffalo, Moose, Dove, Turkey, Snapper, Cow, Sheep, Duck, Pheasant, Salmon, Trout, Deer, Lamb, Goose, Pigeon, Sardine, Tuna, Ox, Elk, Caribou, Gazelle, Sparrow

Unclean Animals for Food:
Swine, Mice, Bat, Seagull, Clam, Seal, Dog, Raccoon, Crane, Crab, Whale, Cat, Squirrel, Crow, Owl, Lobster, Marlin, Rabbit, Horse, Hawk, Stork, Oyster, Shark, Possum, Armadillo, Ostrich, Flamingo, Shrimp, Bear, Beaver, Pelican, Parrot, Catfish, Snake, Camel, Badger, Crawfish, Turtle, Frog.

5. Bread - God's favorite food

Several times Jesus compared himself to bread: "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst" (John 6:35).

Also, during the Last Supper before his death, Jesus partakes bread with his disciples. This was the last food he ate before he died on the cross.

Wheat, rice, oats, and corn are some grain products. Bread, pasta, oatmeal, and grits are some examples. Eating whole grains provides important health benefits. They are generally good sources of dietary fiber. They help reduce blood cholesterol levels and may lower the risk of heart disease. Grains are also used for our metabolism. They help the body form red blood cells and carry oxygen in the blood. They build bones and release energy from muscles.
